The Friends Center is a complex of two historic buildings, including the 1856 Quaker meeting house (a National Historic Landmark), and a LEED platinum office building. The campus houses an active Quaker meeting, and offices for local, regional, and international Quaker organizations and like minded groups working for peace and justice.
sbk + partners, LLC was part of a team retained to assess office and meeting space use in the historic Friends Center complex and to provide recommendations for optimizing space use and rental revenue while supporting and enhancing the organization's mission. sbk conducted an assessment of existing spaces and made recommendations for space use, including modifications to enhance the historic character of the complex. sbk worked closely with other team members to provide Friends Center with a coordinated view of space use, tenant mix and economic implications, cognizant of responding to the Friends Center mission and Quaker ideals.
